confetti head is Bucknell's primary student-run literary magazine. It was established in 2018 to fulfill the need for a platform that features the creative work of students, after the disbandment of the previous magazine Fire & Ice. After a slight hiatus in 2020, the takeover of a new masthead in 2021 brought the magazine back to life with a re-branding and the launch of new issue.

The masthead is: Nicole Yeager (editor-in-chief), Sabrina Barner, Tabitha Chilton, Josh Holm, Tierra Jones, Shelby May, Hailey Robinson, Michael Smith (head editors), and Olivia Scotti (PR & marketing manager).

They recently launched a full Spring issue (the largest confetti issue to date) and premiered a newly-created website.

Each year, the Stadler Center for Poetry & Literary Arts sponsors two prizes that recognize undergraduate students for their talent and/or commitment to creative literature.

The Cadigan Prize for Young Writers is awarded to those who demonstrate excellence in poetry and prose; it is judged each year by contributors to West Branch, Bucknell's professional literary journal. First and second place prizes, as well as honorable mentions, are awarded in each of two genres: prose, which includes both fiction and creative nonfiction, and poetry. The awards are made possible by the generous support of Robb Cadigan '86 and Joan Daughen Cadigan '86.

This year's winners are: Gary Eberly (first place), Hailey Robinson (second place), and Anna DeNelsky (honorable mention) for poetry; Paige Caine (first place), Melissa Tjong (second place), and Alexander Busato (honorable mention) for prose.

The Julia Fonville Smithson Memorial Prize is awarded annually to students whose dedication to the sharing and the making of literary carries into the future the spirit of Julia Smithson.

This year's winners are: Andrei Bucaloiu and Nicole Yeager.

West Branch is a professional literary journal that functions out of the Stadler Center. It publishes issues three times a year of poetry, fiction, essays, and reviews. Since it's establishment, it has produced over 90 issues and has seen a full rotation of wonderful mastheads. The masthead is typically made up of professors/faculty at Bucknell as well as other established literary experts. Submissions are excepted from around the world, with the journal's style changing along with the tides of time.

West Branch also offers an internship opportunity to undergraduate students at Bucknell. It is a competitive, semester-long, non-paid opportunities for sophomores, juniors, and seniors pursuing a career in publishing. It grants interns with one-of-a-kind experience in creative publishing.

The interns for this past Spring semester were: Andrei Bucaloiu and Nicole Yeager.
